Beverley was born in Zimbabwe and first studied with Dulcie Wessiek and Peter Birch, founders of the Salisbury School of Art. In the mid 60’s Beverley came to London to continue his studies, at first working as a draftsman, and since then has been painting full time. Beverley’s style derives much from the experiences of his native Africa and he returns there periodically to renew his inspiration. Influenced by the art forms of the people of this most beautiful country, he reflects this in his idiomatic use of an earthy palette, expansive composition and unrefined texture.
Alongside his many commissioned works, Beverley’s output has enabled him to mount several one-man shows in London as well as exhibitions in California and France. His work is now in collections around the world.
